Jackson Architects has extensive experience working with developer clients across the South West, offering clear, pragmatic advice supported by a strong understanding of Local Authority processes. We are particularly proud of our longstanding relationships with local developers and our ability to deliver commercially viable small to medium-scale housing schemes on challenging sites. These often involve the conversion of Listed buildings alongside carefully considered new-build development to maximise a site’s potential. While such sites are sometimes overlooked and undervalued due to their perceived complexity, they can present significant opportunities when approached with the right expertise.

Our close working relationships with Conservation Officers across more than fourteen Local Authorities enable us to provide informed guidance at an early stage, often avoiding the need for lengthy pre-application consultations. Our involvement typically begins with a desktop due diligence study, offering clear advice on what can realistically be achieved and helping to inform a sensible site value.

Recent projects include the conversion of a listed library into nine apartments, alongside the extension and conversion of a former registry office into ten apartments, complemented by fourteen new build flats and houses creating a cohesive development of thirty-three units within the centre of Bridgwater.

Our wider portfolio also includes larger commercial schemes such as nursing homes, retirement villages, offices, nightclubs, garden centres, and small retail parks.
